Orangewood Children and Family Center

houseOrangewood Children and Family Center (OCFC) is a 24-hour emergency shelter care facility, operated and owned by the County of Orange Social Services Agency for children who have been abused, abandoned, and/or neglected. OCFC is licensed by the California Department of Social Services as a temporary shelter care facility (Facility #306090006). Call us at 714-935-7584.

Approximately 250 volunteers contribute by providing direct and indirect services that benefit the children. From coordinating craft activities to providing specialty lessons in subjects as diverse as yoga, art, music, dance, fitness, gardening, nutritional cooking, hair-cutting, and design consultation, volunteers are an essential part of OCFC and the lives of Orange County's children.

Church groups, auxiliaries, community groups, and other friends of OCFC also sponsor activities for the children. As a result of the generous support of these groups, children at OCFC enjoy fieldtrips to sporting events and cultural arts performances and exhibits. The groups also organize camping trips and other special events, including a High School Prom, for the children, youth and teens.
