Supportive Services

When participating in the CalWORKs Welfare-To-Work program, individuals may have their child care expense paid directly to an approved child care provider. Assistance is also available to support all approved Welfare-To-Work activities. This support could include transportation needs, items such as tools or uniforms that may be needed for employment and if education is part of the approved Welfare-To-Work plan, then school supplies such as books may also be covered.

Supportive Services

  • Child Care Services - Child care assistance shall be available to every CalWORKs Welfare-to-Work participant/ student in order to participate in the program activity or to accept/ retain employment and paid to a person or organization that provides child care services.
  • Transportation Services (Mileage Reimbursement or Bus Passes) - Reasonable transportation costs shall be paid for every participant to and from his or her Welfare-To-Work activity, including transportation to and from the child care provider.
  • Employment, Training, or Education Expenses- cost of books, tools, fees, clothing, and other necessary costs specifically required for a job or approved Welfare-To-Work activities is available to participants.
