The Family Urgent Response System (FURS) is a collaboration among the County of Orange Social Services Agency (SSA), Health Care Agency (HCA) and Probation Department. Through FURS, a statewide toll-free hotline is available for current and former foster youth (up to age 21) and their caregivers, where they can call and receive immediate trauma-informed support from caring and trained professionals during situations of instability, to preserve the relationship of the caregiver and the youth.
Orangewood Children and Family Center oversees deployment of Orange County’s FURS response team, which is comprised of dedicated staff available 24 hours per day/7 days per week to answer calls received from the statewide FURS hotline, to determine an appropriate response and to provide an immediate in-person response within:
- 1-3 hours for urgent needs
- 24 hours for non-urgent situations
If you are in need of FURS crisis resolution and/or supportive services, call or text the state hotline at (833) 939-3877.
