Pre/Post Employment Services
Employment “Retention Services” are provided to current CalWORKs Welfare-To-Work employed participants and former participants to retain employment or to advance to new employment that may provide greater income or benefits. It provides continued case management and support services such as emergency child care, transportation, food and shelter assistance, financial counseling, and referrals to services providing domestic violence, mental health or substance abuse services, all with the goal of assisting clients to remain employed by removing these barriers to self-sufficiency.
- PRE-employment services are available to all current CalWORKs Welfare-To-Work recipients with no time limit, as long as a specific need is identified and agreed upon.
- POST-employment services are available to current CalWORKs recipients as long as they are full-time employed and on aid, and these services then remain available for 12-months after the participant leaves aid due to employment income.
