Welcome to the Children and Family Services Child Abuse statistical page. Thank you for your interest and concern regarding child abuse and neglect in Orange County. In 1974, the Board of Supervisors established the Child Abuse Registry to centralize the reporting of child abuse within Orange County. A 24-hour hotline to receive calls was initiated on February 1, 1975. On this web site you will find statistical reports that represent the calls received by the Child Abuse Hotline as well as the child abuse and neglect reports that resulted from those calls. We had previously been providing similar statistical information to the community on a regular basis. We feel that automating our statistical reports and making them available to you through the Internet is more efficient and cost effective. We hope this meets your needs and that of the community you serve. |
